From the beginning on it was the task of the LKZ Prien GmbH to win competent companies from the areas logistics and tourism in order to encourage cooperation between industry and science .

The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Dortmund accompanies the LKZ Prien GmbH since its inception as a scientific partner and in Prien with a special project Center Traffic, Mobility and Environment. The University of Rosenheim offers since the year 2000 a major field of study in “logistics”. Many students from other colleges and universities, have completed her internship in LKZ since or they have written their bachelor or master thesis in cooperation with the LKZ or even became employees.

Next to the LKZ Prien GmbH, 15 other companies with almost 70 employees and a consolidated turnover of over € 25 million are located in the logistics competence center.


Over the years, the LKZ Prien GmbH with its own employees has developed extensive logistics expertise and offers ideal, practical and long-term solutions from a single source to their customers. In addition, the LKZ Prien GmbH manages the building (center). Thus, it provides an attractive location in the region, where others spend their holidays.

Competence and experience

Since the year 2000 the management of the LKZ Prien GmbH lies with Karl Fischer, even then with over 20 years of experience in logistics as entrepreneur and industry representative. With this practical approach the LKZ Prien GmbH has built a team of highly qualified staff over the years and developed through pioneering projects excellent expertise in many areas of logistics and transport - from planning of road and rail through workflow processes in the production up to digital-based logistics healthcare processes.

Since the company moreover succeed in introducing private economic thinking in the long term grown administrative structures the LKZ Prien GmbH is coordinator in numerous national and international premium projects.

Team of experts – project strategy

The LKZ expert team headed by Karl Fischer, acquires projects and designs them from the first idea to implementation. After a detailed process analysis all parties are united at a table and develop together ideal, practical and customer-oriented solutions.

By this target-oriented, cross-border cooperation the competitiveness of companies and regions in the future-oriented field logistics will be increases and jobs are secures for both the customer and the LKZ network.

Competent – innovative - neutral

The LKZ Prien GmbH is also an interesting partner in terms of neutrality and stability. By public shareholders in the privately aligned GmbH the neutrality is ensured. The shareholders are the district of Rosenheim and the market town Prien. Supervisory board chairman is the Rosenheim District Administrator Otto Lederer, his deputy is the Mayor of Prien Andreas Friedrich. In addition to this structure, with public shareholders, the high share capital guarantees stability. The LKZ Prien GmbH is also debt free and thus has a high credit rating index.

Cooperation partner Bayern Innovativ

Bayern Innovativ GmbH is the national center for innovation and knowledge transfer. Sionce 2000 together with Bayern Innovativ the International Congress "Logistik Innovativ" was hold in Prien.  This congress brings together business, science and politics every 2 years. “Logistik Innovativ” is not the biggest, but the most profound and most beautiful Logistics Congress in Europe. The highlight is the Official State Reception in the Hall of Mirrors (Spiegelsaal) of the castle Herrenchiemsee. Every 2 years the LKZ Prien GmbH and Bayern Innovativ take part at the leading trade fair “transport logistics” in Munich with a joint stand.

Logistik Initiative Bayern (Logistics Initiative Bavaria)

The Logistics Initiative Bavaria is a service provider and independent platform for a network of the logistics industry, consisting of manufacturers, shippers, operators, research institutions, administration and all logistics service providers.

The "Logistics Initiative Bavaria" characterizes as an umbrella brand a uniform appearance of logistics in Bavaria and is used for coordination of different networks in this area. The thematic focuses of the logistics initiative Bavaria will in the future lie especially in on transport logistics, Combined Transport, digitization and sustainability. The core group of the Logistics Initiative Bavaria currently consists of the following four competence centers and regional initiatives: Bayern Innovativ GmbH/Netzwerk Logistik; CNA e.V.; Logistik Agentur Oberfranken e.V.; IT-Logistik Cluster Regensburg, Logistik-Cluster Schwaben and Logistik-Kompetenz-Zentrum (LKZ) Prien GmbH.
